TTI Bursary For South Africa Students

The TTI Bursary Program is open to students pursuing undergraduate degrees in any field, with some funding also available for postgraduate studies.

Study Fields Covered by the Bursary

The TTI Bursary covers all fields of study at the undergraduate level. 

If you are studying for your first degree at a public institution in South Africa, you can apply.

Some postgraduate students may also qualify for funding, depending on availability.

Bursary Coverage

The TTI Bursary is a full-cost bursary, meaning it covers:

  • Tuition fees
  • Study materials
  • Accommodation
  • A monthly allowance for meals or transport

Also, bursary recipients receive mentoring, psychological support, and coaching to help them succeed in their studies.

Funding Duration and Renewal

The bursary covers the full duration of your studies, provided you meet the academic requirements. 

You may need to renew your funding each year by maintaining good academic performance and following the programme’s guidelines.

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for the TTI Bursary, you must meet these requirements:

  1. Be a South African citizen
  2. Be accepted or registered at a DHET-registered public institution, including universities, universities of technology, and TVET colleges
  3. Be studying for your first undergraduate degree
  4. Be Black (African, Coloured, or Indian as per B-BBEE codes)
  5. Come from a previously disadvantaged background or be in the missing middle (total family income between R350,000 and R600,000 per year)
  6. Have excellent academic results
  7. Preference is given to students with a strong academic record

Steps to Apply

  1. Visit the TTI Bursary Website
  2. Click the “Apply Now” button at the top of the page
  3. Click the “Create New Account” button (yellow button)
  4. Login to your account and complete the online application form

Required Documents

Make sure to submit the following documents with your application:

  • Certified copy of your South African ID
  • Proof of acceptance or registration (must be on official letterhead)
  • Full academic record, including latest results
  • A recent profile photo (head and shoulders shot)

Once you apply, you will be added to the TTI bursary database.

If you meet the criteria, TTI may contact you anytime throughout the year when funding is available.

Application Deadline

There is no deadline for the TTI Bursary. Applications are accepted throughout the year.
